A goal is specific as to what and when. The objective and
the time frame must both be realistic. For
each goal you set you must determine what must
happen to achieve that goal. Will it require
special training? Will it require specific
time set aside? Will it require practice? Will
it require cooperation of others? Will it require
some physical or financial sacrifice on your
part? |
 |
Goals should represent objectives over which you can exercise
some control, or at least have a major influence
on the result. Objectives based on chance or
luck are not suitable as goals, because no
matter how hard you work you can't influence
the result. |
 |
Take time periodically to measure your progress on achieving
your goals. This is easier if your goals have
been put in writing. You can then itemize the
things you have done toward reaching your goals
and at the same time list the next series of
steps that must be taken. |
 |
For many people goals are the driving force behind the efforts
they put into their daily activities, Remember-setting
goals establishes direction for your career
and your life. In following that path it is
very important that you never let the learning
experience end. |
|
 |
Every experience you have should be a learning experience
that you will use to your advantage, and it is
therefore important that you record all those
learning experiences in The TOTAL PERSON™ 2006 as soon as possible after they occur. |
 |

of the
progress on your goals. |
 |
As you move through the planners, note your weekly goals,
in the space provided in the Priority Goals section
on the top left of the weekly page. If you don't
have one, don't sweat. It will develop eventually.
You will be surprised at how goals will self-generate
as you get comfortable with the planner. |
 |
Be sure to answer the Monthly Goal Setting Question on the
Monthly Calendar/Goals section at the beginning
of each month. |
 |
Define your goals. Create a desire to achieve something special
for yourself. The greater your desire -to achieve,
the more you will want to accomplish your goals. |
